“So how, exactly, does the President affect gas prices? Because those are set by the gas companies, not by our government. The Republican congress has refused any attempt to fund alternative energy, increase mileage standards, subsidize mass transit, or create peace in the Middle East — where the majority of our gas comes from. Again, how is that Obama’s fault? Hey, remember the last time when gas prices were this high? It was under Bush. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this.”
You can also point them in the direction of this article about how the ultra-conservative Koch brothers set gas prices. Happy flaming!
