Why is it that only two people have responded to me in a civil manner?

Do the others even want to change what they perceive to be my stance? 

I mean I said I took no problem with feminism….but I do take issue with how certain members of said group attack people on the internet. Those instances are then use as weapons against feminist.

How is that hard to understand?

No sexist has ever changed their mind because they were mocked. No one has ever changed their minds after being insulted. I thought as a guy I could give them some perspective. Take it or leave it. At the end of the day…it really doesn’t affect me. I tried to get my point across and I mostly got insults and anger in return. I will thank the two people who responded in a respectful manner. I will consider you the majority though I am sure I will be called a sexist for that.

So what if I have privilege that I’ll point out, but not check in conversations. So what if I feel like being that guy who says things like “What if the blue you see isn’t the blue I see?” in a master’s level philosophy class like it’s the first time anybody’s considered it and then expect you to think it’s brilliant? I mean, it’s not like it really affects me, so y u mad?

Please indicate at what time people posted stuff in your dashboard, just like Twitter and every other sane social networking site do, so I don’t have to find the post’s page itself (which is difficult enough from the dashboard) and look at the bottom for a time.

This. The lack of timestamps in dashboard is yet another tumblr frustration.

This is completely cryptic and hard to find just by looking around, but if you hover the mouse over the very top right of a tumbly post on the dashboard it will show a timestamp.

Well anyway, “fuck cis feminists” on tumblr is too often an opportunity for people who aren’t women (including men) to get a “social justice”-approved outlet for misogyny.

I haven’t gotten rid of enough followers today so I’ll also go on record saying it’s pretty fucking stupid to criticize second wave feminists according to 2011 standards of cissexism. Racism and classism? Already had well-articulated cultures of resistance and in fact feminists extrapolated from them for their own gender analyses so there was no excuse. Homophobia was pretty obvious when it popped up. But there was no “transfeminism” in 1970. Trans narratives of resistance were barely formed at all. So if you’re talking about the handful of really hateful transphobes (three well-known feminist authors and a few extant voices like Elana Dykewomon, Alix Dobkin, and tumblr primmie morons’ hero Lierre Keith), well okay, but that’s not representative of “second wave.” If you’re expecting every second wave feminist to have been able to look into the future and read The Empire Strikes Back, Gender Outlaw, and Whipping Girl, well that’s fucking ridiculous.
